European Green Deal has led to an important agreement on annual targets for greenhouse gas emissions.

All member states have to be involved in the project for the environmental protection, to sustain the future of the next generations.

IN A FEW WORDS, WHAT IS THE EUROPEAN GREEN DEAL?

The European Green Deal is a package of strategic initiatives which aims to start EU on the way to a green transition, with the ultimate goal of being carbon neutral by 2050. It supports the transformation of EU towards a fair and prosperous society with a modern and competitive economy.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE DEAL?

The agreement sets itself the aim to reduce emissions up to 40% by 2030, following a line of action capable of a true turnaround.

The Green Deal mainly concerns sectors such as construction, agriculture, waste, small industry and transport.

This is an important step towards implementing the climate plan which allows concretely to obtain appreciable results by 2035.

In particular, this deal is the final step in the adoption of the legislative package “Fit for 55” of the Commission to realize the European Green Deal.
